The space itself, once an old ancestral house, now radiates warmth and charm, offering a serene, well-ventilated environment ideal for both casual gatherings and romantic dates.

The menu artfully balances classic and contemporary Filipino dishes. Signature offerings like Pomelo Salad and Durian Cheesecake showcase unique tropical flavors of Mindanao, reflecting the region’s rich culinary heritage. Mainstays such as Bulalo, Paella Bringhe, and Pancit Luglug embrace traditional cooking techniques with generous, shareable portions that encourage convivial dining. Diners consistently praise the tender, low-temperature cooked meats and robust, deeply flavored sauces such as those found in Dinuguan and Binagoongan.

Beyond the food, the atmosphere is a major draw. Reviewers highlight the spotless, air-conditioned rooms enhanced with thoughtful details like cloth napkins, fresh flowers, and candlelight that create an inviting and calming experience. The setting fosters conversations and shared memories, whether among families, friends, or couples seeking an intimate yet relaxed spot.

Service is attentive and friendly, though the popularity of Tola sometimes means busy nights—reservations are advisable to ensure a smooth visit, especially on weekends. The blend of local hospitality and fine dining makes it a standout culinary destination in Davao, bridging cultural tradition with modern flair.

Complementing the meals, the beverage selection includes refreshing shakes such as the tropical Mango Sago and the creamy Mais Con Nangka, alongside expertly crafted iced coffee drinks. These pair well with the rich and varied menu, rounding out a memorable dining experience anchored in the flavors and spirit of the Philippines.

In sum, Tola, Kan-anan sa Balay Oboza offers more than food; it offers a taste of Filipino culture with grace, a place where every dish tells a story set against the backdrop of a storied home, inviting locals and travelers alike to savor an authentic and heartfelt culinary journey.

Got to be a 5 stars and we went there 2 times in consecutive evening. We were very pleased with the food, especially the dishes on the first day, while second evening the grilled dishes were cold already as think they were full house on a Saturday night. The atmosphere is the best, clean, neat and good AC with cloth napkin, flower, candle and all. Price wise is reasonably cheap for such restaurant setup. Must go! See the dishes for yourself!

The overall experience was great — beautiful environment and relaxing atmosphere, perfect for a date or a casual, pleasant meal. The restaurant is popular, so booking in advance is recommended. Service was friendly and attentive. Among the restaurants I visited in the Davao, this one stands out for its elegant setting and good food quality. Prices are reasonable, around 1,000 PHP per person. The low-temp beef was delicious, and the mango shake was fresh, though a bit too sweet for my taste. Some service details could be improved, but overall, it’s one of the few refined dining spots in Davao.

Sumptuous dinner in an elegant fine dining experience.! Though it may sound old but realistically classic and worth a try. I was born and raised here in Davao, and the taught of an old ancestral house turned into a restaurant was a bit exciting for me. I never thought it existed. Seemingly odd to discredit the place, a side from its significant values to our culture, I find it a home full of happiness which transcends to its walls, its majestic and vibrant scene at throughout. The happy meal goers, the echoing sound of reminisce conversations. I could see each table kinda enjoying each other's moments. Let's talk about food. The Kare-kare, Dinakdakan, and pansit Lug Lug was my personal favorite. A plate was shared by us five, so difenetly it was a generous serving. I wonder if tradition holds its place on how it tasted, but I was looking forward to bringing my parents the next time.

The top restaurant that I visited during my Davao trip! They serve Filipino cuisine. For the quality of the food that you're getting, it's really affordable! My favorites were the Suha salad, Paella, and Ang Bulli. We paid using credit card. You should also try the Durian Cheesecake! We went here a day before and they were fully booked, so we opted to make a lunch time reservation instead.

Went here for a romantic date. The place never fails to give that vibe. Great options of Filipino food. Staff was also accommodating and kind. Unfortunately, our order took a while to be served, and the soup was not hot enough. We had to have it heated again. Anyhow, we enjoyed our meal.

I'm a huge fan of old houses converted into restaurants; there's a certain charm to them that I find irresistible. This particular place not only boasts the allure of a historic casa, but it also serves delectable Filipino cuisine that I absolutely adore. The ambiance further adds to the overall dining experience, creating a nostalgic and cozy atmosphere. However, it's essential to note a downside: at times, the service here tends to be a bit slow, requiring frequent follow-ups on your order. Despite this minor setback, the culinary delights, especially the buko pie, make it all worthwhile. I highly recommend giving it a try; the promise of a delightful dining experience awaits!

Excellent food, atmosphere, and service. The food was reasonably priced and had good portions. The Ala Pobre steak and palabok is a must. Although the beef salpicao was too oily for my taste, I had a great time overall. 10/10 will come back.

If you're not from Davao City and you want to taste Filipino food at an upscale joint, then this is the place to go. The food for me was delicious! Each meal that they served was well marinated causing the food to be packed with flavor! Although, I would recommend not going here if you're already hungry as the serving time took quite a while (almost 30mins) because they cook everything as you order guaranteeing freshly cooked meals. As for the interior of the place, its a bit cramped for me since the distance between the other tables is not that spaced out so you can easily pick up gossip from the other table. If youre coming in a big group, i would recommend booking their private dining areas for a more intimate and private dining experience and if youre just coming to eat here in general, i would recommend getting a reservation in advance. Overall, Highly recommended! I cannot wait to go back and taste more of their dishes!
